Jackson County Vigilantes
Vigilantes Given ’38 Supplies Last Week
Jackson County Vigilantes received permits and supplies for 1938 Thursday. Ronald Cahill, deputy Sheriff, Harry Sharp, chief of vigilantes, D. A. Joles and Attorney Paul Ahlers were in Bellevue distributing the supplies and checking equipment in the hands of local vigilantes, who are Ivan Haven, Ben Lampe, Lloyd J. Keil, Vincent Rolling and Orion DeGear.
Vigilantes in other parts of the county are: For Maquoketa-Harry Sharp, chief; Charles Botkin, D. A. Joles, Jack McIntire, Frederick Joiner and John Mohr; for Preston-Jim McLaughlin, Isaac Taylor, Clarence A. McLaughlin, Alvin Krumviede and E. Mohr; for Baldwin- Walter Werden and Leonard Edson; for Andrew-Rex Baker, R. J. Gisel and John Janssen; for Sabula- Lloyd Mathews, Harry Miller, Charles Thompson and Frank Bryant; for LaMotte- Mike Herrig and Bill Manderscheid; for Miles- I. C. Isgrig and K. C. Kellogg; for Spragueville- Leo Helmle and Carl Johnson.
