JOHN DOSTAL’S CASE

Some weeks ago S. F. Millikan, J. H. Bahne, J. E. Goodenow, et al, made complaint before Justice Wilbur that John Dostal had not filed with the Auditor his monthly report of sales of beer for medicinal purposes. As the Sentinel before stated, Mr. Dostal was selected out of a number who had unintentionally overlooked the matter of making their reports monthly on the first of the month. The case came on for hearing before Justice Wilbur Wednesday, F. M. Fort appearing for the prosecution, G. L. Johnson for the defense. A jury was impaneled and consisted of the following citizens of our city: A. Organ, D. C. Clary, Mr. Marshall, M. S. Dunne, John Mann and W. K. Williams. The arguments consumed a part of Thursday and at about 2 o’clock the jury returned a verdict for defendant, on the grounds that the testimony showed no intention to violate the law.
