SOMETHING IS ROTTEN IN DENMARK

The assessors book of Sabula city for 1885 recently returned to the County Auditor again makes some startling exhibits. The bank of J. Hilsinger is not assessed one dollar and all of J. Hilsinger’s other property including an assessment of $75 on taxable furniture amounts to a sum total of $1,514. How is this for a man reputed to be worth at least $30,000? Put this in your pipes and smoke it fellow taxpayers of Jackson county. This is the man who acts as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, postmaster of Sabula and general fault-finder with all bills presented to the county but his own.
