MARGARET SEIBEN BIRTHDAY

Last Sunday was the sixty-third birthday of Mrs. Margaret Seiben, a well to do and highly respected German widow lady, living near Baldwin. Upon each recurring year many acquaintances and friends from the surrounding towns and country gather in large numbers at the spacious residence upon her many broad acres of well improved farm land to celebrate her birthday and enjoy themselves generally. Last Sunday was no exception to previous locations. Some twenty-two carriages and other vehicles from Maquoketa, Lost Nation, Baldwin, Monmouth Toronto and Nashville were counted and it was estimated over 150 guests were dined and wined. The Timber City Brass and a string band and also a large number of people were in attendance from this city. Mrs. Seiben received many beautiful and valuable presents, and all who were there, speak highly of the hospitable entertainment and enjoyable time had
