A terrible tragedy occurred last Sunday morning at Franklin Grove, Illinois, which cost the life of one of Maquoketa’s finest young businessmen, when a fast passenger train struck the automobile which M. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon, and until the arrival of the parents, the place of holding the services cannot be announced. The American Legion, of which Leon was an honored member, will have charge of the last sad rites, assisted by Rev. J. G. Morgan, pastor of the Congregational Church. The bereaved family certainly have the sincere sympathy of an entire city and community. The obituary will appear in our next issue.
