Jackson Sentinel, August 24, 1876.

Bridgeport Bridge

Pat Dunne and his workmen are doing everything in their power to hasten the stonework of the Bridgeport bridge, but the high water constantly offers a hindrance. The first pier on the north bank is now above the water line, and will of course progress rapidly. The trestle work is finished, and the earth filling at the north end soon will be.
