August 3, 1893-At Friday night’s meeting of the school board Miss Franc Eaton was promoted to No. 8 made vacant by Miss Mellett’s resignation. Miss Minnie Hancock was promoted to No. 7; Miss Julia Morris was elected to teach No. 6; Miss Katie Bently elected to teach No. 2 in the high school building; Miss Lizzie Long of Baldwin was elected to teach No. 2 in second ward.
Miss Nellie Dunham who was elected third assistant teacher of our city schools some time ago writes the secretary of the Board that she will accept. She is highly educated, a graduate of Ann Arbor University and an excellent teacher. She accepts the position at a financial sacrifice as she has since her election by our board received a much more lucrative offer from a Michigan school board.
