MAIL ROUTE TO MAQUOKETA – This new mail route was established by Congress a short time since has been mapped out by engineer Hart, of this city, and the plat forwarded to Washington as requested by the Department, some days ago, and proposals for carrying the mail upon it may too expected to be advertised for soon. The route follows the main traveled road between this city and Maquoketa, and it is quite probably that two additional Post Offices will be established upon it, one at the Ten Mile House, and another between Charlotte and Maquoketa. Charlotte is now without any regular mail, the route from De Witt to Sabula, that passed through there once a week having been discontinued, probably in anticipation of the establishment of this new route. We are anxious to see it get under way. – Lyons Advocate.
