A large crowd which entirely overflowed the assembly hall of the new mausoleum which has been erected in Mt. Hope cemetery during the past six months by the Iowa Mausoleum Company, attended the dedicatory services which occurred last Sunday afternoon, as announced in last week’s issue. The services were solemn and impressive, fitting to the opening of a home for the dead. The program commenced at half past two.

Mayor F. W. Myatt, representing the Cemetery Association opened the exercises with brief remarks, after which the quartet consisting of Mesdames F. H. Wilson and D. D. Priaulx and Messrs, Joe Moravec and Max Wright sang beautifully “Lead Me Gently, Home.” Rev. L. L. Hanson of the Baptist church invoked the blessing of the Deity, after which the quartet sang again, “Lead Kindly Light,” being the appropriate selection.

The Dedicatory Address was given by the Rev. Arthur M. Lewis of St. Mark’s Episcopal church and his words charmed those who listened. The formal dedication was made by Rev. D. F. Boomershine of the Reformed church in his usual impressive manner. “One Sweetly Solemn Thought” was rendered by the quartet and the benediction was spoken by Rev. Lewis Rev. Keister was to have performed this service but unfortunately arriving a little late, he was unable to force his way through the dense crowd.
