Store Opening Attracts Huge Shopper Crowd.
More Than Six Thousand Visitors At Gambles Monday.
Company officials reported today that more than 6,000 persons visited the Gamble store here Monday, when the firm reopened following extensive remodeling and addition of many new lines of merchandise.
Shoppers were lined up on Main Street early Monday morning awaiting the store opening, and in a matter of minutes doors had to be closed as men and women thronged the store and filled it to capacity. The rush continued throughout the entire day as shoppers drew prizes each hour on sales slips issued the previous hour.
Crowds during the balance of the week and through Thursday were beyond expectations it was said.
