Jackson Sentinel, June 8, 1945:
Prisoner of War Comes Home.
Pvt. Asher Schroeder arrived home the last of the week for a furlough with his mother, Mrs. L.C.Schroeder. He is the first prisoner of war to reach home in this vicinity.
