ARE MARRIED AT PRESTON
A quiet wedding ceremony was performed at St. John's Ev. Lutheran church at Preston last Wednesday morning at 11:30 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. W. P. Sandrock, which united Mr. Carl Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Beck of near Preston and Miss Clara Van Gorder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Addison Van Gorder of Maquoketa, in the sacred bonds of matrimony.
The double ring ceremony was used, and the attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Van Gorder, Louis Burmahl and Miss Freda Beck. The bride wore a gown of navy blue silk Canton crepe and carried a bouquet of roses. The groom wore a suit of black.
Following the wedding ceremony the wedding party went to Maquoketa by car where a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents, after which the newly married couple departed for a trip to the lakes in Wisconsin. They will make their home on the groom's father's farm on Route 2, which the groom has been farming for several years.
