CHILD IS KILLED WHEN AUTO TURNS TURTLE
The first fatatl accident occurring in this vicinity this season happened Saturday afternoon on the Andrew-Bellevue road, when the three year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Glade of Bellevue was instantly killed when the car driven by Mr. Glade turned turtle off an embankment near the Wilmes place. Mr. Glade, wife, a son of five years and the little girl were en route to Andrew from their home and when coming down the hill east of Janssen's grove, Glade lost control of the car, which plunged off the embankment, turning over three times. The little girl was sitting on the mother's lap in the front seat with Mr. Glade, and was thrown out, striking on her head and fracturing the skull, death being instantaneous. Mrs. Glade sustained a deep gash on one limb and she was taken to Moulton hospital in Bellevue where medical treatment was given, she being removed to her home the following day. Mr. Glade and the little boy, the latter riding in the rear seat, were uninjured. The car started to burn after turning over, but John Seltzer of near Fulton happened along at the time and succeeded in extinguishing the flames.
The funeral of the little girle was held yesterday at Bellevue.
