KAUFFMAN, RALPH W., Jackson County Attorney and Member, State Commission for the Blind, born Maquoketa, 1918. He graduated from high school at the Iowa School for the Blind in 1936, attended Maquoketa Junior College, graduating in 1938; graduated from the State University of Iowa with a B. A. degree in 1941, and from the law college with a J. D. degree in 1943. He was appointed to fill an unexpired term as Jackson County Attorney, and has been continuously reelected to that office since. Governor Beardsley appointed him a member of the Commission for the Blind for two years, beginning July 1, 1951.
