LEE, HILLIS KURTZ, Attorney-at-law, 105 North Fifth Street, Maquoketa, born Lisbon, November 3, 1901, son of T. M. and Clara E. (Kurtz) Lee. He graduated from Lisbon High School, attended Cornell College one year, and graduated with an LL.B. degree at the State University of Iowa in 1925. Admitted to the Iowa Bar, he became associated with E. L. Schoenthaler in the practice of law, and he has continued to present date in Maquoketa as partner in Schoenthaler and Lee, Attorneys-at-law. He has been a director of the Jackson State Savings Bank since 1933, was secretary of Maquoketa Board of Education, 1928-1948, and is past president, Izaak Walton League. His religious affiliation is with the Episcopal Church. Hobbies are woodworking and fishing. Married, Clinton, February 16, 1928, Agnes M. (“Anne”) Harvey, daughter of John and Marie Harvey, both deceased, past president, P. E. O. Sisterhood, and president, Episcopal Guild. Child: Judith Ann, born April 26, 1931, attending Iowa State Teachers College.
