For the responsble office of Auditor, Osceola Goodenow, of this city, has been placed in nomination. Mr. Goodenow is a son of John E., one of the old pioneers of this county, and here among us was Oce., born and raised. Those who have known him all his life, will bear prompt testimony to the fact that he has always been noted for his temperance principals and strict business integrity. No young man in this community has a better reputation for strict honesty and correct business habits, and not more deservedly popular. Kind, accomodating and obliging, almost to a fault, he is literally a "chip of the old block," and persons having business with him in the Auditor's Office, can always rely upon a cordial reception and prompt attention to their wants. His immediate neighbors of Maquoketa and South Fork will show their estimation of him on the 10th day of October, by giving him a larger vote than any other candidate on the ticket, and enough to place his election beyond all doubt. Mark that.
