S.H. Brown, Civil War Soldier

I'm looking for any available information on Samuel H. Brown, in particular the names of his wife and children (if any). Samuel appears as record #876 in Netha Meyer's online obituary collection. I believe (but am not certain) that he's the same Samuel H. Brown who served in the Iowa 28th Infantry in the Civil War.

I'm trying to establish whether Samuel H. Brown was the ancestor of John E. Brown of Marengo. John had a son, Herbert C. Brown, who later moved to Michigan. John may also have had a sister, Mary, who married a man named Harleska.
