DEATH COMES SUDDENLY TO VICTOR FARMER

Word of the death of Roy McBride last Thursday came as a great shock to his many friends in this community. Possessor of one of those enviable jovial dispositions, with seemingly not a care in the world, his presence will be deeply missed on the streets of Victor and among his friends and acquaintances.

Andrew Roy McBride, son of Silas and Mary McBride, was born in Marengo, Iowa, November 11, 1886.

June the 9th, 1909, he was united in marriage to Susie Rohrer of Victor, Iowa. To this union two children were born. After their marriage the home was made in Marengo for nine years. In 1918 they moved to the farm northwest of Victor, where residence has been made ever since.

Mr. McBride had been in failing health for the past year, although few were aware of it, and the end came very suddenly Thursday afternoon, May 3, at the age of only 58 years, 5 months, and 22 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, one daughter, Mrs. A.E. Johnson of Des Moines, and Lloyd at home; one brother of Los Angeles, California; and other relatives and many friends. His parents proceeded him in death.

Services were held Saturday afternoon, May 5, at the McAninch Funeral home, The Rev. J.J. Pritchard officiating. Serving as pall bearers were Henry Baetsle, Joe Wentland, Henry Wahl, Harry Price, Merlin Hull and William Schlesselman.
