Aaron John Amos, 38, died Friday, June 21, 2024, following an accident.

Funeral Services will be held at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10:30 am; visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tiffin immediately following the funeral.

Aaron was born August 31, 1985, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of John Amos and Sheryl Amos (Wilkens). He was a 2004 graduate of Clear Creek Amana High School. Aaron was a patriot and loved his country. His military service was the honor of his life. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard for twelve years, including deployments to Afghanistan and Egypt. He was an entrepreneur at heart; he started Hawkeye Home Specialists in 2018 and took immense pride in the work he did for others.

Aaron was a person who loved to make others laugh and was always quick to give anything he had to help others.

His ability to strike up a conversation and brighten someone’s day was a gift he gave the world. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Iowa Hawkeye athletics and loved his dog, Roxy. His amazing smile will be forever missed.

Aaron is survived by parents, Sheryl Amos (Wilkens), and John Amos; siblings, Ralph Zesch, Teresa Zesch, Melinda (Michael) Fall, Katherine Barton, and Cael Amos; nieces and nephews, Anna (Colton) Morrill, Lee Pettit, Cloey Fall, Kaden Zesch, Paige Fall, and Kooper Zesch; grandmother, Mildred Wilkens, and a loving extended family; and his many dedicated friends who he considered family, especially, Zach and Chris Alberts.

Aaron was preceded in death by grandparents, Wesley and Lois Amos and Bob Wilkens, uncle, Ed Wilkens, and aunt, Deb Bennington.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Aaron’s name c/o Hills Bank and Trust.
