Dylan James Penning was born December 5, 2006, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Brian and Jamie McDonald Penning. He was a sophomore at Iowa Valley High School in Marengo. Dylan was very active in sports, a competitive player while having fun doing it. He participated in basketball, football, baseball, and running track and field. In his free time, Dylan really enjoyed golfing with his friends and Coach K. Dylan had many friends and liked spending time hanging out with them, playing Xbox and going “cruising”. He worked part time at the Ox Yoke restaurant in Amana.

Dylan left such a wonderful impression on all those he met, having a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Garrett looked up to his big brother and all their “brotherly shenanigans”. He could carry a tune in the shower, but never for an audience. He shared the love of hunting with his dad especially turkey hunting. Dylan will be missed by many, but he will live on in the memories of all who loved and knew him.
