OBITUARY OF THE LATE ALLIE MAHANNAH, AMES
Albert Mahannah, formerly of North English, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mahannah, passed away suddenly at Ames, Iowa, on October 23, 1944, aged 67 years. Mr. Mahannah had apparently been in good health and gone to his work at the Iowa Agricultural College in Ames, where he was employed, on Monday. When found he had taken the cover from his lunch box and was sitting in his chair having died suddenly from a heart attack.
On February 12, 1902, he was married to Minnie Belle Swink who passed away March 13, 1910. One child, a daughter, Irma, was born to them.
In 1917 he was married to Mrs. Etta Wood and a son, Lynn, was born to this union.
Allie Mahannah is survived by his wife, his daughter, Irma of Salem, S. D. , his son, Lynn,, who is in the U. S. Navy and a sister Mrs. Vertie McKinstry of North English. His father, mother and three brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted at a funeral home in Ames, Iowa on Thursday, October 26, 1944, with burial in the Ames cemetery.
Mrs. Ambrose McKinstry and Mrs. Glen McKinstry frm North English attended the services.
