J.C. MAHANNAH DIED February 17th
J.C. (John Clark) Mahannah, 83, of 1562 Fourth avenue S.E., Cedar Rapids a piano tuner for over 50 years and a Cedar Rapids resident since 1909, died Friday, Feb. 17,1961.
He was born in North English on Dec. 2, 1877. Surviving are his wife, Inez; 3 daughters, Mrs. Raymond Smith, Minneapolis; Mrs. Paul Lahr, Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. J.D. Nicholas, Madison, Wis.; a son, Clark J., of Cedar Rapids; 3 sisters, Mrs. C.O. Hiltbrunner, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Merle Smith, North English, and Mrs. Elmer Kaufman, Newton; 3 brothers, Willis, of Butte, Neb.; Wayne, of Pueblo, Colo., and Ernest, of California, and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Mahannah was a member of the Peoples Church and the National Piano Tuners Assn.
Funeral services were held at the Beatty-Beurle’s chapel an 1:30 Monday afternoon, February 20, with the Rev. N.W. Lovely in charge. Burial was in the Cedar Memorial Cemetery.
Those from North English attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Merle Smith and Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Ross.
