Funeral service for Shirley B. DeMonbrun, 85, Marengo, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 20, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. She died Thursday, March 16, 2017.

The Rev. Dan Andrews will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from noon until the service time.

A memorial fund has been established for Betty Rutherford, 680 Silk Oak Lane, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Shirley Marshall Felgar DeMonbrun was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Keokuk, the daughter of Frank and Helen VanAusdall Felgar. She accepted the Lord on Aug. 26, 1943. She graduated from Hamilton High School, Hamilton, Ill., in 1949 and later from Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo.

She married Donald DeMonbrun on Aug. 11, 1951, in Elviston, Ill. She taught many teacher training classes, Bible studies and she held Good News Clubs in her home. She was a wonderful wife and mother and especially loved to crochet.

DeMonbrun is survived by her children, Susan (Norland) Hofer, Huron, S.D.; Chris (Larry) Fullmer, Marengo; Frank deMonbrun, Aurora, Colo.; Betty (Bob) Rutherford, Crystal Lake, Ill., and Edith (Victor) Quan, Belize City, Central America; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William Marshall, Carthage, Ill., and three sisters, Esther Jingst, Sebring, Fla.; Irene Houston, Burlington, and Francis (Dale) Best, Woodland, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother Charles.
