Donald L. "Buzzy" Buswell, 70

Donald L. "Buzzy" Buswell, 70, of Iowa City, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Hospice Unit, Iowa City. A Funeral will be held at 6 PM, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.

Don was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Belle Plaine, IA, the son of Richard and Cleo (Robinson) Buswell. He attended Parnell and Williamsburg High School. Don was united in marriage to Patricia G. Struble on Jan. 16, 1965 at Keswick United Methodist Church.

He started his professional career as a carpenter then became a master drywaller. In June 1966 Don moved the family to Iowa City where he resided for 51 years.

His interests were gardening, golfing, fishing, hunting, and watching Hawkeye sports. Most of all he enjoyed attending his grandkids' activities.

Donald is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Sherry Sladek of Iowa City, and Michele (Kenny) Kuepker of Iowa City; four grandchildren, Morgan and Grant Sladek and Paige and Zachary Kuepker; two siblings, Larry (Diane) Buswell of South Amana, and Robyn (Kevin) Weiland of North Liberty; and extended family.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Paula; and son-in-law, Steve Sladek
