Celebration of life service for Eugenia “Jean” Edwards, 94, North English, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Millersburg United Methodist Church, Millersburg. She died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

Burial was in the Millersburg Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Millersburg United Methodist Church, Millersburg Community Center, North English Community Center and the North English First Responders.

Eugenia “Jean” Maxine Edwards was born April 9, 1922 in Washington, the daughter of Lloyd and Pearl (Mills) Dickinson. She graduated from Washington High School in 1940.

On Dec. 20, 1945, she married Raymond Franklin Edwards at the Little Brown Church, Nashau. She worked as a cook for the Deep River Millersburg School for 28 years.

She was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church and the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed traveling to the Ozarks, sitting on the porch with Charlotte, gardening, playing ball with “Hawkeye” and attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

Edwards is survived by her children, Rick (Velta) Edwards, Holden, Mo.; Pam (Charles Schayer), Denver, Colo.; Debbie Tippie, North English, and Gary Edwards, North English; 10 grandchildren, Steve Edwards, Allison (Chris) Corwin, Alicia (Yssel Aguilar) Edwards, Andrea (Clint) Sanders, Dustin Tippie, Danelle (fiancé Dave Weir) Tippie, Drew (Kristal) Tippie, Devon (Aaron) Wetherell, Nick (Brittney) Edwards and Jenna (Josh Graham) Edwards; and 13 great-grandchildren, Preston and Olivia Tippie, Viola, Arlety and Abner Aguilar, Trinity and Zander Corwin, Myla Tippie, Max Wetherell, Kade, Peyton and Jace Edwards and Kane Graham.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Larry; two brothers, Gerald and Gilbert Dickinson, and two sisters, Francilla Farrier and Priscilla Dickinson.
