Funeral service for Henry ‘Hank’ Weck, 75, Humboldt, was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. He died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

Fr. David Wilkening officiated at the service.

Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Williamsburg.

A general memorial fund has been established.

A celebration of life ceremony was held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Mason Lindhart Funeral Home, Humboldt, from 6 to 8 p.m. Fr. Brian Danner led a short prayer service at 6 p.m.

Henry “Hank” Edward Weck was born July 24, 1941, in New Brunswick, N.J., the son of Edward Henry and Alice Mae (Hoffman) Weck. He graduated from high school in South River, N.J. He served as an Airman 1st class in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era.

On July 25, 1964, Hank married Geraldine Kieltya at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Jackson, Minn.

After the Air Force he was a customer engineer for IBM and was transferred to the Fort Dodge, Iowa, office in 1973, and was later a real estate agent for Caldwell Banker’s. He was a member of the Humboldt American Legion, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Humboldt, and the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed woodworking, driving the tractor, bird watching and being in the woods watching the wild life and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Weck is survived by his wife, Geri, Humboldt; two sons: Shawn (Angela) Weck, Kickapoo, Ill., and Erin (Dea) Weck, Williamsburg; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers: Roger (Jean) Weck, Jackson, N.J., and Allen (Carol) Weck, Jamesburg, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents.
