Celebration of life service for Marlys Kinzler, 81, Williamsburg, was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at Powell Funeral Home, North English. She died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital.

Tim Jones officiated at the service.

A memorial fund has been established for Millersburg First Responders.

Marlys Kinzler was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Iowa County, the daughter of Samuel and Marie (Bauer) Cable. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1953.

She married Myron Kinzler Sept. 18, 1955, at the Fundamental Gospel Church, Williamsburg. The couple made their home in rural Williamsburg. They moved to Paw Paw, Ill., in 1979 and returned to Williamsburg in 1999.

She was the honorary president of the North English Liar’s Club and enjoyed flowers, shopping, having her nails done, shoes, going to the winery and the Malt Shop.

Kinzler is survived by her husband, Myron, Williamsburg; two daughters: Lori (Steve) Meress, Fond du Lac, Wis., and Marcy (Robert) Noble, Colfax; two grandchildren: Kylie Good, Pierre, S.D., and Jennifer Meress, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters: Yvonne Grimm, Williamsburg, and Barbara (Lee) Kreger, Cedar Rapids; brother, Richard Cable, North English; sister-in-law, Dixie Cable, Deep River, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Green; brother, Don Cable; sister-in-law, Vera Cable, and brother-in-law, Eugene Grimm.
