Memorial service for Kenneth V. Grimm, 76, Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Millersburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at the Deep River Community Center. He died Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Grinnell Medical Center.

The Rev. Shirley Van Dee will officiate at the service.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the community center.

Inurnment will be at the Community Cemetery, Deep River.

A memorial fund has been established.

Kenneth V. Grimm was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Millersburg, the son of Virgil and Ethel Churchhill Grimm. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1957.

He married Karen E. Kelting Grimm June 7, 1973, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a veteran of the Iowa National Guard. He worked at the University of Iowa, JC Penny’s and retired from Phx Mesa Gateway in July 2006.

He was the president of the Jaycees in Millersburg, enjoyed bowling, gardening, farming and playing cards. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeye, Arizona Diamond Backs and Phoenix Suns fan.

Grimm is survived by one son, Todd (Sara) Grimm, North English; one daughter, Nicole (James) Hartman, Montezuma; nine grandchildren, Preston Grimm, Trevor Grimm, Royce Griffiths, Hanna Grimm, Lance Griffiths, Brennen Grimm, Brooklyn Grimm, Sophia Grimm and Aidan Grimm; one great-grandchild, Aleeah Eichorn; five siblings, Phyllis Wright, Apache Junction, Ariz.; Leroy (Shirley) Grimm, Colorado; Lavern Grimm, Alaska; Larry (Louise) Grimm, Minnesota, and Marvin (Jeanne) Grimm, Amana; special friends, Larry Goodman, Mick and Kevin Sauter, Ron Broman and Kenny McGuire.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Karen, in 2011; his parents; his parents-in-law, Eleanor and Harold Kelting; three brothers-in-law, Buck and Garth Kelting and Dean Wright, and two sisters-in-law, Gerry Grimm and Norma Kelting
