Deania Lynnette Martens, age 70 of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Marengo, Iowa, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at her home. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 9, 2015, First Presbyterian Church, Marengo with Rev. Gerald Rife officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A general memorial fund has been established.

Deania is survived by her daughters, Alicia Bean (Craig) of Marion and Misty Klendworth (Bruce) of Center Point; two grandchildren, Easton and Remington Klendworth; a sister Carol Long (Jerry) of Louisville, KY; and two nephews, Jay and Chad Long of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Kenneth Martens in 2010.

Deania Lynnette Rudder was born April 12, 1945 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Boyd Alexander Rudder and Ruby Pearl Kagley Rudder. She graduated from Young High School in Knoxville, TN and attended beauty school there. Deania and Kenneth Martens were married in Knoxville. The couple moved to Marengo in 1974, where Ken established his law practice. Besides being a wife, mother, and homemaker, Deania enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an organist and pianist for over 50 years. Deania was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Marengo, where she had been the organist for much of that time. She had resided in Marion for the last four years, to be closer to her daughters and their families.
