James Dye, 81

Funeral service for James K. Dye, 81, Marengo, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at First Presbyterian Church, Marengo. He died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo.

The Rev. Anni Mingin officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Marengo Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Marengo.

James K. Dye was born May 3, 1934, in Iowa County, the son of Lloyd and Rachael [Royal] Dye. He received his education in Iowa County schools and graduated from Marengo High School in 1952.

He married Betty Jean Bell July 26, 1953, and the couple made their homes in Norway and Marengo. He was a technician at Rockwell Collins for 39 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends and we will miss him.

Dye is survived by his wife, Betty; one son, David (Diana), Newhall; five grandchildren, Adam and Nick Dye, Holly Ethier (Eric), Emily Dye and Travis Schulte; a great-grandchild, Ryleigh Jo Ethier, and a brother, William, Lineville, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Danny; one sister, Connie Rae, in infancy, and a brother, Ronald.
