Richard (Rick) Henry Kriegel passed away at his home Monday, Feb. 9 after a short battle with cancer.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Any memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or PALS (Poweshiek Animal League).

Rick was born Nov. 2, 1952 in Grinnell, Iowa to Bernard and Delores [Wilson] Kriegel. He graduated from HLV of Victor with the class of 1970.

Rick worked for many years for Manatt's Inc on the seal coat crew. After leaving Manatt's he worked at various other construction jobs.

Rick's hobbies included racing, hunting, horses and he had a love for animals.

Rick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tracy Heishman, of Hartwick; mother, Delores Kiregel, of Hartwick; siblings Pam (Lee) Benishek of Brooklyn, Sherry (Albert) Ray of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Jeff (Donetta) Kriegel of Hartwick, Rod (Bambi) Kriegel of Laurel and Angie (Dave) Craig of Hartwick; sister-in-law Jeanne Morris of Aurora Colorado; brother-in-law Kevin Heishman of Brooklyn and his loyal companion, Chico. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Kriegel, father-in-law Maynard Heishman, a niece Jeanna Rose Craig and a nephew Levi Ray Syl Kriegel.
