Donna Etscheidt, 86

Mass of Christian burial for Donna M. Etscheidt, 86, Watkins, was held Friday, Feb. 7, at St. Patrick’s Cathoic Church, Watkins. She died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. Craig Steimel was celebrant.

Interment was at St. Patrick and St. Paul Catholic Cemetery near Watkins.

Donna Mae Etscheidt was born Oct. 12, 1927, at Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Cecil Lester and Evelyn Dorothy Schultz Mefford. She attended Van Buren and Wilson High School, Cedar Rapids.

She married Cyril Etscheidt Dec. 26, 1946, at Cedar Rapids.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Watkins, where she served as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years.

In her leisure, she enjoyed cooking and doing crossword puzzles.

Etscheidt is survived by her husband, Cyril, and one son, Kurt (Helga) Etscheidt, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin; two brothers, LaVerne and Marvin Mefford, and one sister, Alberta Henecke.
