Services for Patrick J. Walsh, 78, Par-
nell were held Friday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m.
at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Parnell.
The Rev. J. J. Fath celebrated the Mass.
Altar boys were Chris and Kyle Jen-
nings, rural Williamsburg.Walsh died at the Williamsburg Care
center Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, 1983
following a long illness. He had been a
resident of the care center since
October.Dorothy (Mrs. John J.) Donahue, Wil-
liamsburg, organist, accompanied sol-
oist William McDonald, Parnell, who
sang "On Eagles Wings," "Be Not
Afraid," "Here I Am" and "How Great
Thou Art."Ushers were Raymond Murphy and
Leo Johnson, both of ParnellBurial was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were nephews Lau-
rence Kessler, Nichols and Robert Dur-
bin, Clinton; a cousin James Walsh,
Lamont; and Alvah Hanke, jr., Larry
Schropp and Frank Weldon, all of
Parnell.Patrick Joseph Walsh was born at
Holbrook Feb. 23, 1905, the son of
Patrick and Hanora Gray Walsh. He
attended the rural schools in the Par-
nell area. He was a lifelong member of
the Roman Catholic church.He was married to Wilma Wom-
bacher Nov. 19, 1949 at St. Joseph's
church, Parnell, by the Rev. D. C. Brown.
He was a farmer all his life and from
1952 until 1968 was also employed at
Amana Refrigeration, Inc. Upon retire-
ment the couple moved to Parnell.He is survived by his wife Wilma, a
son, John Wombacher, Cedar Rapids,
and three daughters, Michele (Mrs.
Daniel F.) Moore, Iowa City; Mildred
(Mrs. Lavell) Mizer, Killeen, Texas, and
Hanora Walsh, Parnell; also six grand-
children and one great-granddaughter.He was preceded in death by his par-
ents, five brothers, Thomas, Joseph,
Lambert, Alphonsus and Frank and two
sisters, Mary (Mrs. Leo) Kessler and
Annie (Mrs. Joseph) Butler.
