Mina Gaffey, 93

Funeral services for Mina Gaffey, 93,
Parnell, were held at 10 a.m. Monday,
Dec. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church,
Williamsburg. She died Thursday, Dec.
25, 1997, Parkview Manor Care Cen-
ter, Wellman, following a long illness.

The Rev. Joseph Roost officiated at the
service.

Burial was in St. Michael's Catholic
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Wonrau,
Tim Gaffey, Tom Jensen, Ron Malichky,
Jim Gaffey, and Don Donohoe.

Memorials may be made to Friends of
Old St. Michael's.

Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home,
Williamsburg, was in charge of ar-
rangements.

Mina Frances Gaffey was born Feb. 2,
1904, in York Township, rural
Williamsburg, the daughter of T. F. and
Julia Griffin Donohoe. She attended ru-
ral schools.

She married Francis J. Gaffey Nov. 27,
1923, at St. Michael's Catholic Church,
Holbrook. She was a mother, wife
and homemaker and a member of St.
Michael's Catholic Church and the Altar
and Rosary Society.

Gaffey is survived by two sons, Merlyn
Gaffey, Valley Falls, Kan., and James
Gaffey, Almond, Wis.; two daughters,
Carmelita Wonrau, Luzerne, and Jeanne
Malichky, Riverside; nine grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildren and one brother,
Lyle Donohoe, Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her hus-
band, June 29, 1967; her parents; one son,
Thomas; one granddaughter, Maureen
Gaffey; two brothers, Clem and James,
and one sister, Anna.
