Norman Kuddes

Funeral services for Norman A. Kud-
des, 82, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tues-
day, Dec. 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Williamsburg. He died Friday,
Nov. 30, 1990, at St. Luke’s Hospital,
Cedar Rapids, following a sudden ill-
ness.

The Rev. Anthony Conrad officiated
at the service. Organist was Irene
O’Meara and soloist was Elaine Dillin,
both Williamsburg.

Burial was in St. Michael’s Catholic
Cemetery, Holbrook. Pallbearers were
Kenny Donohue, Merle Spratt, Leon
Spratt, Oren Schmidt, Richard Uhlmann
and Wayne Gingerich.

Norman A. Kuddes was born June 6,
1908, near Williamsburg, the son of
Henry J. and Elizabeth Schaef Kuddes.
He attended rural school.

He married Bridget M. Carney June
20, 1933, at St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church, Parnell.

The couple farmed in the Holbrook
and Williamsburg areas. He retired in
1970.

He was a member of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church, Williamsburg, and a
former member of Knights of Colum-
bus.

He is survived by three sons, Nor-
man, Williamsburg, Harold, rural Cen-
ter Point, and John (Frank), Iowa City;
two daughters, Janice Hendrickson,
Cedar Rapids, and Mary Horn, rural
Gibson; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife,
in 1985; his parents, two brothers and
seven sisters.
