PATRICIA A. STIRK

Patricia Ann Stirk of Fairfax, VA passed away on December 11, 2012. Pat was born February 1, 1933 to Augustin and Myrtle [Smith] O'Donnell in Williamsburg, IA with siblings Mel, Rita, Teresa, Rosemary, Katherine, and Josephine.

Pat graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in chemistry, and married John Stirk on December 27, 1958. Pat worked as a Registered Medical Technologist in hospital laboratories, eventually retiring from Inova.

Pat is survived by her husband, Col. Stirk USAF (Ret.), with whom she sang in their church choir for many years, sons Anthony (Terri), Charles (Carola), and Daniel (Anne-Garland), grandchildren Jonathan, Aaron, Elena, and Andrew, and sisters Rita, Teresa, Katherine, and Josephine.

A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. on December 27 in the Memorial chapel at Ft. Meyer, Arlington, VA, with a reception following at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Foundation, Metropolitan Washington Chapter, a charity that Pat supported along with her friends for many years with their time and resources
