Memorial service for Robert (Bob) E. “Coach” VanCleave, 82, Middle Amana, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. He died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013.

Inurnment will be in Montezuma at a later date.

A memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Essence of Life Hospice and the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.

VanCleave is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol; his daughters, Cindy Doyle, Julie (John) Griess and Amy (Dan) Wilson; three grandchildren, Heather (Jeff) Isackson, Connor Griess and Haley Wilson, and two great-grandchildren, Parker Bell and Maggie.
