Beverly Mahoney, 83

Funeral service for Beverly Mahoney, 83, Oxford, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oxford. She died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund has ben established.

Beverly Joyce Mahoney was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Oxford the daughter of Raymond and Orpha (Larimer) Rourke. She lived her entire life in the Oxford area and graduated from Oxford High School in 1948.

She married Clayton D. “Slick” Mahoney Sept. 15, 1956, at St. Mary’s Church, Oxford, where she was a lifelong member.

The couple raised their family in the Oxford area. She served on the Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Foresters. She was employed at Centro, Inc., for over 25 years, retiring in 1995.

She loved being on the homestead, caring for her pets, watching the livestock, looking over the rolling hills and enjoying God’s gifts around her. She was a kind, gentle and loving person, always seeing the good in everyone through her sparkling eyes.

Love you, Mom. Now go dance with Dad.

Mahoney is survived by her children, Kim (Chuck) Hennes, Oxford; Bob (Linda) Mahoney, Oxford; Camelle (Terry) Disterhoft, Tiffin; Brian (Kerrie) Mahoney, Venice, Fla., and Pat Mahoney (Rose Rohret), Oxford; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; one sister, Karen (Jim) Tucker, Iowa City, and sisters-in-law, Leanne Miller and Joan (Gordon) Braatz, both Oxfod.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, LeRoy Rourke, and brothers-in-law, Bud Miller and Ted Mahoney.
