Hazel Andresen, 89

Graveside service for Hazel M. Andresen, 89, formerly of Tipton, will be held in the spring of 2014 at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. She died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Hazel M. Andresen was born April 10, 1924, in Tipton, the daughter of William F. and Frieda Rixe Hamilton. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1942 and also graduated from Paris Beauty Academy, Cedar Rapids.

She married Ralph W. Andresen May 7, 1944, in Clarence. She was a past member of the First United Church of Christ, Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary and various church circles. She was a beautician for 44 years.

Andresen is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Steve) Strasburger, Cedar Rapids, and Elise Kukuzke and special friend, Ken Gulick, Marengo; one son, William Andresen, Jersey City, N.J.; brothers, Marnard Hamilton, Punta Gorda, Fla., and Edward Hamilton, Humboldt; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Grace Olson, Doris Hines, Rosalie Roads and Angia McQuillen, and two brothers, William and Dale Hamilton.
