Donald Klenk, 85
Funeral service for Donald G. Klenk, 85, Middle Amana, was held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Oxford United Methodist Church. He died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at his home following a brief illness.
Burial was at the Oxford Cemetery with military honors.

Donald Gene Klenk was born Aug. 1, 1928, the son of Earl and Louise (Benzinger) Klenk.
He married Eileen Himes Dec. 27, 1958, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.
He worked at Amana Refrigeration as an engineer for 42 years. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed reading, working on crosswords and sudoku puzzles.
Klenk is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen; daughters, Pam and Mike Kelly, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Lori and Bill Ballard, Marengo; daughter-in-law, Linda Stoakes-Daseke, Mason City; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Kortney Kelly, Carrie and Shaun Moore, Kevan and Cary Kelly, Meggan Deseke and Ben Provin, Scott and Jessi Ballard, Jeff Ballard and Shelby Usher and Christine Ballard, and eight great-grandchildren, Katelynne, Lindsay, Wyatt, Garrett, Max, Troy, Trevor and Mercedes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bob; grandson, Nicholas, and two sisters, Ellyce and AnnaMarie.
