Dorothy Dillon, 92

Celebration of life service for Dorothy A. Dillon, 92, North English, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Powell Funeral Home, North English. She died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the English Valley Care Center, North English.

The Rev. Luke Caster officiated at the service.

Burial was in White Pigeon Cemetery, rural Webster.

Memorials may be made for the English Valley Care Center, North English; Keswick First Responders or Essence of Life Hospice.

Dorothy Ann Dillon was born March 28, 1921, in Greenville, the daughter of Cloyd Clarence and Jessie (Mather) Chute.

She married Harold S. Dillon Aug. 10, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo. She had lived in the Keswick and North English communities most of her life. She attended the Keswick United Methodist Church and was active in various neighborhood clubs.

She liked to quilt, work on jigsaw puzzles and word puzzles and loved entertaining her grandchildren.

She became a resident of the English Valley Care Center in December 2006.

Dillon is survived by her three children, Karolyn “Kay” Grove, South English; Patricia and George Stanich, Clive, and Ron and Karen Dillon, West Chester; seven grandchildren, Chris and Rich Baumert, Cindy and Larry Deitrich, Matt Dillon, Anne Dillon, Beth Dillon, John Dillon and Michael Dillon; five great-grandchildren, Jackie, Mattie and Luke Dillon and Travis and Ashley Baumert; one sister-in-law, June Caskey, North English, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1971; her parents; two sons, Charles “Chuck” Dillon and David Dillon; one grandson, Brian Dillon; two sisters, Leona Glanz and Phyllis Anselmo, and three brothers, Arnold, Harold and Bob Chute.
