Don Morrison, 80
Celebration of life service for Don E. Morrison, 80, South English, was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Powell Funeral Home, North English. He died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
The Rev. Jim Stout officiated at the service.
Burial with military rites was in the Brethren Cemetery near South English.
Memorials may be made to the Kinross Christian Church and the South English QRS.

Don E. Morrison was born May 2, 1933, the son of Dyle and Tressie (Johnston) Morrison. He attended country school and graduated from Kinross High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1954.
He married Marilyn Scott Feb. 4, 1954, in Westfield, Ind. The couple made their home in rural South English and had lived there ever since. Farming and family were his life. He enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s ball games and activities.
He served on numerous community boards throughout his lifetime. He was a member of the Kinross Christian Church and the Farmers Masonic Lodge No. 168 A.F. and A.M.
Morrison is survived by his wife, Marilyn, South English; seven children, Vicki and Richard Barnett, Macon, Mo.; Dr. Doug and Sue Morrison, Crivitz, Wis.; Dan and Jody Morrison, South English; Brenda and David Ranum, Decorah; David Morrison, Cedar Rapids; Mari and Alan Ackerman, South English, and Dick and Nancy Morrison, South English; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne and Ellen Morrison, Williamsburg; three sisters, Carolee and Delmar Senger, Olathe, Kan.; Marsha and Terry Steinhart, Sigourney, and Debra and Jerry Bellinghausen, Britt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
