Celebration of life service for Chad R. Evans, 39, Marengo, was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. He died of an apparent heart attack Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Marengo.

The Rev. Richard Meyer officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Harrington Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

A memorial fund has been established for his daughter, Meta.

Chad Richard Evans was born Nov. 13, 1973, in Williamsburg, the son of Richard H. and Kimbra R. (Walter) Evans. He attended school in Williamsburg and worked in the construction business.

In July 2010, he married Eva Hough in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends and family, especially his daughter, Meta, and stepsons, Gavin and Ebin.

Evans is survived by his daughter, Meta Evans, Norway; two stepsons, Gavin and Ebin Farmacoulas, Norway; his parents, Kim and Terry Gorsh, Boone, and Richard and Julie Evans, Williamsburg; siblings, Jessica and Shawn Stimmel, Cedar Rapids; Emmy and Eric Quaintance, Solon; Jacob Escher, Boone; Elizabeth Evans, Iowa City, and Nathan and Wyatt Evans, both Williamsburg, and his grandparents, Orville and Rita Walter, Homestead, and Carl Evans, Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Patricia Evans; one sister, Rachel Evans, and one brother, Calvin Evans.
