Alice Rudin, 90

Celebration of life service for Alice A. I. Rudin, 90, Williamsburg, was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg.

The Rev. Gary Sears officiated at the service. Organist was Shirley Madoerin. Musical selections were “How Great Thou Art,” “Nearer My God to Thee” and “I am But a Stranger Here.”

Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy.

Casket bearers were Todd Rudin, Brandon Rudin, Joe Smith, Jason Solberg, Duane Madoerin and Tom Wardenburg.

A memorial fund has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, and Essence of Life Hospice.

Alice Amanda Ida Rudin was born March 28, 1923, near Homestead, the daughter of Adolph and Ida (Newkirk) Hudepohl. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School.

She married Paul Albert Rudin April 27, 1947, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg. They lived on a farm south of Marengo until moving to Highland Ridge in 2011.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy; the church choir and ESR. She enjoyed bowling for over 50 years and playing cards.

Rudin is survived by two sons, Steve and LaRae, North Liberty, and Eugene and Phillis, Marengo; three grandchildren, Kelly, Todd and Brandon; seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Lucille Bell, Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Charles; a great-granddaughter, Cara; two brothers, Reno Hudepohl and Orville Hudepohl, and two sisters, Minerva Schmidt and Irma Wardenburg.
