Beatrice Hollopeter, 84

Funeral service for Beatrice Hollopeter, 84, formerly of Ladora, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. She died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Brooklyn Community Estate, Brooklyn.

The Rev. John Dodds officiated at the service.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Ohio Cemetery, Ladora.

A memorial fund has been established.

Beatrice Hollopeter was born Oct. 7, 1928, in rural Marengo, the daughter of Jessie and Mabel Haman Van Blaricom. She graduated from Ladora High School in 1947.

She married Forrest Dean “Bud” Hollopeter Sept. 12, 1952, at the Zion Reformed Church, Millersburg. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.

She was employed over the years in the office at Wilson Meat Packing, the University of Iowa Hospital and Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Amana.

She was a member of the Ohio Methodist Church, Ladora.

Hollopeter is survived by her children, Susan and Jim Johnson, Ladora; Patsy and Jerry Imhoff, Marengo, and Larry Hollopeter, Ladora; four grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Tiffin; Brandy and Troy Enochson, Marengo; Matt Imhoff, Marengo, and Cindy Johnson, Changzhou, China; two great-grandchildren, Beau Enochson, Ames, and Brice Enochson, Marengo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 2012; her parents and one brother, Charles “Chuck” Van Blairicom.
