Atellia ‘Till’ Kinzenbaw, 86

Funeral service for Atellia J. “Till” Kinzenbaw, 86, Marengo, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at First Presbyterian Church, Marengo. She died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, following an extended illness.

The Rev. Diane Miller officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo.

A memorial fund has been established.

Atellia June Kinzenbaw was born May 16, 1926, in Iowa City, the daughter of Dr. A.I. and Ruby Port Solbrig. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1944.

She married Dean William Kinzenbaw Oct. 24, 1945, at First Presbyterian Church, Marengo. She was a wife, mother and homemaker.

She also was a school cook and a teacher’s aid for special needs children at the Iowa Valley Schools.

She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Marengo, and a charter member of the Happy Homemakers Club. She was a 50-year member of the Marengo American Legion Auxiliary. Her passion in life was her family, grandchildren, church and friends.

Kinzenbaw is survived by her children, Faythe and Jim Roberts, Dean Jr. “Bill,” Doyle, Dale and Char, Doug and Deanne, Denise and William Kaestner, all Marengo, and Dave, Phoenix, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren, Brenda and Chet McCaw, Brad and Paula Roberts, Mindy and Jon Sherman, Neil and Michelle Kinzenbaw, Candie and Mike Tow, Brent Kinzenbaw, Justin Kinzenbaw, Jenilee and Ross Peterson, Drew and Tiffany Kinzenbaw, Darrin Kinzenbaw and Katie Cronbaugh, Danelle Kinzenbaw, Kailey Kaestner and Megan Kaestner; 18 great-grandchildren, Amber and Blake McCaw, Connor, Wade, Brooke and Cole Roberts, Mikayla, Dallas and Derek Sherman, Miranda Bernard, Mackinze, Clayton and Cassie Kinzenbaw, Dalton and Joshua Crawford, Gunner Paulson and Nola and Henry Peterson; a great-great-granddaughter, Kenlyn McCaw, and two sisters, Anita Parnin, Phoenix, Ariz., and Vava and George Heller, Marengo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Denny; one daughter-in-law, Nicolette, and one brother, Darold “Bud” Solbrig.
