Jeanette Wiebold, 81

Celebration of life service for Jeanette H. Wiebold, 81, Parnell, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. She died Monday, May 6, 2013, at the English Valley Care Center, North English.

The Rev. Kirk Statler officiated at the service. Organist was Peggy Wardenburg. Congregational hymns were “On Eagles Wings,” “Be Not Afraid” and “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

Burial was in the Yankee Point Cemetery, rural North English.

A memorial fund has been established for the English Valley Care Center, Yankee Point Cemetery or Iowa City Hospice.

Jeanette Helen Wiebold was born April 14, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Grover and Helen (Hetz) Stumpff. She attended Amana School.

She married Robert John Wiebold Dec. 26, 1953, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She worked as a wife, mother of four, helped on the farm and worked at the Woolen Mill, Crest Motel, Colony Haus Motel and the Holiday Inn.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, the monthly family dinners at the Ox Yoke, Amana, doing needlepoint, bird watching and puzzle books.

Wiebold is survived by two sons, David and Deb Wiebold and Duane and Margie Wiebold, Parnell; one daughter, Debbie and Denny Whitaker, Grinnell; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Stumpff, Vinton; two sisters, Druecilla and Dale Slager, Anamosa, and Joan Miller, Newhall, and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Stumpff, Middle Amana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 2010; her parents; one son, Dennis Wiebold, 1997; one grandson, Joshua Wiebold, 1990; three brothers, Roy, Don and Arthur Stumpff; one sister, Sally; one brother-in-law, Warren Miller, and two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Marie Stumpff.
