Funeral service for Dorothy K. Martinson, 84, Williamsburg, was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Homestead. She died Sunday evening, April 14, 2013, at Colonial Manor of Amana.
The Rev. Terry Small officiated at the service.
Burial was in East York Cemetery, Williamsburg.
A memorial fund has been established.

Dorothy Katherine Ann Martinson was born Nov. 3, 1928, in rural Homestead, the daughter of Edward A. and Rose Kuhnle Vogt. She attended St. John’s Lutheran School, Homestead, and graduated from Marengo High School in 1946. Following graduation, she worked at the Homestead Sandwich Shop.
She married Robert O. Martinson April 8, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Homestead. In addition to being a homemaker, wife and mother, she was a pie and roll baker for over 17 years at Colony Village Restaurant.
She loved gardening and her flowers, especially her African violets. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubs and Hawkeyes.
Martinson is survived by one son, Duane, Williamsburg; one daughter, Doris and Ed Kinsinger, Parnell; 10 grandchildren, Tricia and Wayne Schutterle, Norway; Tonya and Rick Grambo, Minot, N.D.; Rachel Trimpe, West Amana; Shawn Martinson, Williamsburg; Corey Martinson, Williamsburg; Nick and Steph Martinson, Ely; Vince and Niki Martinson, Williamsburg; Jared Kinsinger, Wellman; Candra and James Nickell, Wellman, and Gabe Kinsinger, North Liberty, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in 2011; her parents; one son, Dale, in 1982; one brother, Clifford Vogt, and one sister, Ethel Stanerson.
