Funeral service for Steven A. Peska, 48, Marengo, was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. He died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at his home.

Burial was in the Marengo Cemetery.

Steven Alan Peska was born July 1, 1964, in Marengo, the son of Dale and Evelyn Bearbower Peska. He attended Iowa Valley of Marengo schools.

He was employed most recently with Carew Landscaping. He had worked in the past for Marengo Ready Mix, Kimm’s Redimix, Amana Refrigeration and Van Dee Bins.

He enjoyed fishing, raising animals and working with his horses. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and his friends.

Peska is survived by his children, Troy and Melissa Peska, Van Horne; Stephenie Peska, Ladora, and Alex Peska, Marengo; one grandson, Gabe Andrews; his mother, Evelyn Peska, Marengo; siblings, Tom, Scott and Lorene, all Marengo; Bill and Deb, Delta; Joann and Wayne Sebetka, Atkins, and Mary and Tim Moore, Fairfax, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, in 2010, and a nephew, Jeremiah Shaull.
