R. Bruce Towe, 78, of Norway, passed away peacefully Feb. 1, 2013, at Colonial Manor of Amana, on Feb. 1, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walford.

Funeral services will be held at the church on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 10:30 a.m.

Bruce was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Norway, the son of Chester and Cora (Johnson) Towe. He graduated from Norway High School and served his country in the Army, Special Security Unit. Bruce married Pamela Schradel on July 23, 1977, and farmed the family farm until his illness in 2011. He also enjoyed driving a school bus for Norway and Benton Community for over 50 years.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Pam; children, J.D. Towe (Kathy) of Cedar Rapids, Allison Towe of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tristen (Troy) Hosek of Amana and Tanner Towe of Norway; four grandchildren, Leigh Schilling, Taryn, Teagan and Timberli Hosek; sister-in-law, Glenice Towe; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Chester Jr., Willard and Weldon Towe.

Bruce loved his family, farming, traveling, bus driving and his dogs. He never knew a stranger and will be missed by his many family and friends.

Arrangements are with Brosh Funeral Service, Norway.
